Maapee is a product of Happyos, an FMCG brand based out of Tamil Nadu. They are one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of Indian spice masalas. And they are on a mission to supply a complete range of healthy ingredients for a kitchen. So that people get access to healthy and tasty cuisines at the comfort of home.
When Happyos wanted to venture into noodles market, they approached us for package designs. Indian market is not too adventurous to try different noodles for taste. So, the package has to fight with ‘hard-to-change’ mentality of Indians and differentiate itself from first movers like Maggie to win the market.
Noodles are often treated as a snack than as a food, and kids are largest consumers of noodles. So, our strategy is to position Maapee noodles as a healthy snack in the minds of parents instead of banking on instantly cooked clichés.
Any snack eaten with a lot of fresh vegetables is always perceived as healthy. So we created mascots using vegetables (carrot, beans and capsicum) that are often added along with noodles. Supported by a tagline “don’t miss to eat without me”. “Healthy, yummy and safe” was induced as a campaign message in the package, to reach out to health-conscious customers. Steam stokes blowing up across the package, is used to show that it’s always cooked & served hot.
Color code: Yellow inspired from a hot flame & green from organic and healthy foods.
Mappee quickly gained market share within a month of its launch. It was the third highest selling brand at all local groceries across Tamil Nadu
